Financial Assistance Resources in Hot Springs County
If you or someone you know is experiencing financial difficulties in Hot Springs County, Wyoming, it’s important to know that you’re not alone. Our community provides various resources in one location, with staff members available to support you during tough times.
How Our Partnership Works:
YCAN manages the Hot Springs County CSBG grant and partners with the Phillips Help Center in Thermopolis to distribute funds to individuals in genuine need of housing assistance. The center helps residents understand the eligibility requirements for various social and community services tailored to their immediate needs. Case managers provide support in finding necessary services, guide individuals through the application process for appropriate programs, assist with budgeting, and offer many other essential resources.
CSBG Funding and Availability:
The CSBG funding is available to YCAN starting in October each year. It will be distributed to eligible applicants who meet federal income eligibility and have a complete application submitted by a community partner on a first-come, first-served basis until the funds are depleted or the fiscal year ends on September 30.
Application Documents Needed:
- Online Application Completed by referring Case Manager
- Include household and individual demographic information for each household member.
- Copies of all household income for the past 30 days, everyone 18+.
- If anyone 18+ is missing paystubs for the past 30 days, the employer may fill out an Employer Verification form.
- Must complete Self Declaration for anyone over 18, not working, and no income for the past 30 days.
- Copies of identification for all household members to verify household size.
- Service Documents: Landlord Verification and Landlord Signed and Dated W9 for rent, Homeless Verification completed by case manager, and Motel Estimate for Temporary Housing Placement, Utility Bill, disconnect notice, or application for utility services in a household member’s name.
CSBG Services Available in Hot Springs County
Housing assistance has been identified as one of the top community needs in Hot Springs County. The services offered will include rent and utility service payments not covered by the LIEAP program. Each service request must be accompanied by documentation, and payments will be made directly to the vendor rather than the applicant.

Child Support Referrals
In compliance with 42 U.S.C. § 9919(b), the Network has established procedures to ensure adherence to all legal regulations regarding CSBG client access to child support services. The Network and its partners will refer custodial parents from single-parent families enrolled in CSBG-funded programs to Wyoming Child Support Services.
