Why Our Non-Profit Needs Volunteers

Volunteer Board Members

Our board is made up of dedicated volunteers with a variety of skills and backgrounds. Our tripartite structure requires:

• Not fewer than one-third (1/3) of the members are persons chosen by democratic selection procedures adequate to assure that these members (A) are representative of low-income individuals and families in the neighborhood served; (B) reside in the neighborhood served; and (C) can participate actively in the development, planning, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation of programs under the CSBG.

• One-third (1/3) of the board members are elected public officials or appointed representatives who were in office on the selection date.

• The board includes at least one (1) person from the public, such as officials or members of business, industry, labor, faith-based organizations, law enforcement, education, etc.
